Button flowers

I'm not going to lie. I got this idea from a friends house. I instantly fell in love with it and just had to make my own. I tried looking on Pinterest for a tutorial, but none was found. So.... here's one meow.

At one time I had bought a large bag of button for another craft, but of course I couldn't find that. My sister hooked me up with a bag of buttons to begin with. I went to the local Wal-Mart and procured some gold wire. I used a 20 gauge. I felt like this was easy to twist only using my hands and stiff enough to hold up the buttons.

I got the vase that I would use to hold the flowers. I just held the wire up to the vase to measure the height then doubled it back down. I'm sure there is a better way to do that, but it worked for me. Also I was watching Miss Fischer's Murder Mysteries on Netflix while doing this. Its a really good series.

Probably important to mention to get buttons that have the holes through them and not off the back. To get started to run the wire through the holes and twist. I twisted and couple of time and then would thread another button on. I would use three or four buttons and then twist just the wire for about and inch section and then repeat the process. There's no wrong way to put the buttons on. Get crazy. I used different sized buttons and different colors.

There it is. It doesn't look very impressive with just one, but I guarantee that a vase full of these bad dogs will brighten any room. And as a bonus, you don't have to water them and they don't die. I love getting real flowers, but these are probably the next best thing.

Stay crafty my friends.
